Modeling of glazing and windows in THERM/WINDOW software - Webinar

The course is aimed at both new and experienced users. Emphasis of the course is to provide necessary guidelines and teach users tricks and methods to effectively model glazing and whole fenestration products in THERM and WINDOW software. While basis for the training is new THERM 6.3 and WINDOW 6.3, only features and methods that are applicable to THERM 5.2 and WINDOW 5.2 will be shown, so that trainees will be able to effectively use either version of programs. Shading devices and attachments, which are exclusively available in THERM 6.3 and WINDOW 6.3 are covered in a separate training course.

• Create glazing units in WINDOW
• Learn about WINDOW libraries including Boundary conditions
• Overview of THERM
• Learn how to model individual fenestration cross sections in THERM from DXF file
• Define materials, boundary conditions
• Modeling Spacer, Divider, Meeting rails
• Importing glazing systems in THERM
• Analyze individual cross sections for thermal performance
• Calculate whole fenestration product indices: U-Factor, SHGC, VT and CR
